licensed professional counselor
Taylor earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Alabama and her Master of Arts in Counseling, Marriage and Family Specialization from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Taylor works with individuals and adolescents ages 13 and older. She has experience working with clients through trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, attachment wounds, and spiritual concerns. Taylor sees the counseling process as collaborative yet directive to help clients achieve their goals.
Taylor uses therapeutic approaches that are specifically tailored to the client and their needs. She has special interest in and trained in Story Informed Trauma Therapy (SITT). This type of trauma therapy looks at the life of a person as one continuous story. By using the story framework, it allows a client to process their past to first help know their own story, identify the patterns, and then create holistic and lasting change based on client created goals. Trauma changes everything, including our relationships with ourselves, others, and the world around us, so by holding space to process through those hurts clients can find hope and healing.
For clients desiring a faith-based approach, Taylor is equipped to integrate a Christian worldview into counseling.
Taylor is taking clients in person and virtually on Mondays from 9am to 5pm.
