Madison strives to create a space where clients feel fully seen and deeply cared for, with the goal of coming alongside clients to address the roots of current problems. This includes identifying needs and goals, cultivating insight into patterns, and empowering with tools and information. She works collaboratively to address holistic change holistically for each client. Clients often describe her as safe, deeply present, and insightful.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Washington and Lee University and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Denver Seminary. She also has a minor in Art History and enjoys working to find beauty in things. She has counseled clients since 2016 in a range of settings, and works primarily with individuals from age 8 on up as well as premarital counseling. Clients often come in to work on issues around grief and loss, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, relationships, infertility, and life transitions. Madison has a heart for working with all types of trauma including relational hurts, emotional abuse, spiritual wounds, and medical events.

Madison draws from a variety of techniques, depending on each client’s goals. For clients interested in a faith-based approach, she also enjoys employing a Christian worldview lens, having been trained in integrating this into counseling.

Additionally, many people specifically ask about EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, a research-based method to treat trauma and other negative life experiences. She is fully certified in EMDR, having found many clients highly benefited from insights developed using it. The heart of this technique is to identify negative beliefs about self that were developed due to difficult events or relationships, and might still strongly tie to these, and to go back and identify and then resonate with current truth and strengths instead.

One of Madison’s goals for you is to be able to be present and find enjoyment in your own life, even when difficult things happen. She views the therapeutic relationship as a powerful tool, and would be honored to hear your story and walk alongside you in this season, whatever it may entail.

Madison is currently taking new clients. She sees individuals ages 9 and up via Zoom and in person on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
