Jennifer received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Masters of Education in Counseling at the University of St. Thomas. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, under the supervision of Brittany Senseman, LPC-S. Jennifer enjoys working with individuals of all ages and has a special interest in working with young adults and the Millennial generation.
Jennifer has a breadth of experience in area of education, non-profit and mental health fields in a variety of capacities. As a counselor, she has a background in residential, community and private practice settings, working with adults and adolescents on a wide range of mental health issues. She has also worked with individuals with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, survivors of trauma and those experiencing general life transitions (i.e., loss of job, relationship difficulties, life role changes, etc.).
Jennifer has a special interest in working with women’s issues, specifically around identity development, navigating social pressures, self-esteem and implementing self-care practices, among other topics. Jennifer is also passionate about working with individuals who have experienced trauma and has received specialized training in the area of integrative trauma studies and trauma informed care. Her therapeutic style is gentle and encouraging, and she is dedicated to helping individuals through the use of evidenced based interventions. In order to best understand and reflect the unique needs of each client, Jennifer utilizes an integrative approach to clinical issues with an appreciation and interest in holistic modalities.
