Brittany Senseman, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, Principal

I received my undergraduate degree in English and Psychology in 2003 and my Master of Arts degree in Christian Counseling in 2005. It may seem like the English degree doesn’t exactly fit with my focus on psychology, but I have always felt that people have stories to tell and I just get to play a small part in them for a while.

I became a licensed professional counselor in 2007 and have always had a general practice – seeing children, adolescents, and adults both individually and as couples. I prefer having a broad practice instead of specializing in one population because I believe having both the child and adult perspective makes me a more complete therapist. When working with kids, I can draw from my experiences with parents to more accurately portray that point of view. Conversely, adults often need to work through childhood experiences, and parents need help understanding their child’s attitude.

I completed my training as a licensed professional counselor supervisor in 2014. I want to give back to the counseling community and invest in the next generation of counselors. I am able to provide supervision to interns and practicum students on a limited basis.

I am the founder and principal of Anthology Counseling and Wellness – a team of excellent clinicians including counselors like me and a psychiatrist. We believe that addressing the whole person – body, mind, and spirit – helps the healing process to be more efficient and more effective.

My therapeutic style is engaging, understanding, and direct. I prefer to focus on the root of the problem rather than merely addressing symptoms. However, I believe it is appropriate to coach clients on management techniques when the symptoms are preventing further progress. I am comfortable working with mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, ADHD, post traumatic stress disorders, grief, divorce, marital concerns, and just generally feeling “stuck”.

I thoroughly enjoy my work and the chance it offers me to positively impact people in a real and lasting way.

Please contact me via email or at 713.987.3161 extension 101 if you have any questions or if you feel I can help you in some way.
